PEPSI Refresh: Day 10

It's Day 10 of Pepsi Refresh and what a day it has been! We are currently holding our own in 12th place which is great - but I am really hoping we can hit the Top 10 by the end of the weekend. Want to help me hit that goal? It's easy! Just head over to Pepsi Refresh and vote vote vote every day until April 30th. Don't forget to spread the word!

This afternoon I had an interview with TV Cogeco here in Muskoka about the Roadtrip with Reason. I was surprisingly nervous - but I think it turned out just fine! I will (probably) post the footage here next week once it's online ... in the meantime (if you live in Muskoka), you can watch it tonight at 5:30 and 10:00 p.m.

I also recently interviewed with Ian Holroyd from North Oakville Today for a newspaper article. It was posted online today! I didn't even know it was out until I looked at my "mentions" on twitter and noticed that Volunteer Canada had caught on. Not a bad way to find out...not at all! That is all from me (for now). I must get going....I have to go and get my VOTE in!!! Haha.

It's Day 9 of PEPSI Refresh! We're currently in 12th place! That's amazing! You're the best!
Please keep it up!

So quite a few years ago my Mom brought home a (signed) book called 'Cool to be Kind: Random Acts and How to Commit to Them" ... so I read the true story of these 4 cool dudes who went across the country in an RV doing Random Acts of Kindness in as many communities as possible. Very cool!
I came across the book when I was packing to move to Muskoka this past summer, so I read it again.
Still very cool.

Need a reason to VOTE for Roadtrip with Reason today? No problemo!

Tune-eee Tuesday: Week 7

Hi Music Lovers!

So it's time for another weekly post of tunes for the road! As you're aware, I am compiling a grande list of songs for my Roadtrip with Reason ... this week I am focusing on artists from Newfoundland. I have decided to spend the next few (13) weeks posting music from a particular province or territory. So next week the music will be from Nova Scotia, and the following week the tunes will come from Prince Edward Island. Do you comprehend? Hope so!

I spent multiple hours skimming through artists on CBC Radio 3's BIG LIST to find (most of) my picks this week. My obsession with Radio 3 has finally come in handy! Huzzah.

PEPSI Refresh: Day 8

Happy International Women's Day!

Yup, it's not ONLY Day 8 of PEPSI Refresh or just Tune-EEE Tuesday (check back later) but it also happens to be a special day for women. This year marks the 100th anniversary of International Women's day - a day for global recognition of women's achievements and successes! Events are held all over the world to celebrate, as well as raise awareness and spark conversation for gender issues. Very cool.

I put together some pictures of a few of the very special women that have touched my life. I am celebrating them today!

So it seems that the International Women's Day theme varies from country to country. In Canada, the basis of the theme for 2011 is "Strong Leadership. Strong Women". It just so happens that as I get older (boo hoo) and grow, I feel it's more important (for me) to be a strong leader and a stronger woman. Independence was something that I never particularly focused on before, but in the recent year(s) of my life I have realized just how important my independence is to me....

So why should you VOTE for Roadtrip with Reason today???

Reason #5: Celebrate STRONG women today with a VOTE for me .... an up & coming leader and strong woman!

PEPSI Refresh: Day 7

It's Day 7 of PEPSI Refresh & Monday (insert sad trombone).... at least the sun is shining here in Muskoka!
Sunshine makes me think of Summer...which makes me daydream of the Roadtrip with Reason...which makes me smile!

We are still in 13th place and as MUCH as I love the #13, I would really like to see us hit the Top 10 at the end of this week.
It may be a difficult task but not impossible. Can you help me with this? All you need to do is vote, vote, vote every single day!
Encourage your friends/co-workers/family members etc to VOTE too - it take 2 seconds AND it's good for you...

PEPSI Refresh: Day 5

Hi Friends,

It's Day 5 and it's the weekend. Woot woot!

We are currently sitting in 15th place - solid - yesterday we were in 14th place for about 12 hrs (who's counting? haha) which leads me to believe that we can get back there and go beyond!

One of my besties sent me a message this morning informing me that I am officially on the "Current Leaders" board. I am at the very bottom, but I am there! YAY! Let's keep climbing that ladder with those votes....

I also just wanted to give a quick shout out to all my new friends who have just found Roadtrip with Reason. In that past few days I have had some new sign-ups for my e-newsletter and my daily "hits" have been growing, which is exciting. WELCOME FRIENDS!

PEPSI Refresh: Day 4

It's Day 4 of Pepsi Refresh and I have to say that you people are AMAZING!!!

Holy guacamole. I am dancing and singing and jumping around in my office right now. Seriously, you are the best! We are currently in 15th place and have been there since yesterday afternoon. HEART = HAPPY! It means so much to me that I am receiving incredible support from friends, family, new friends and strangers -- lil' old me and my project. Eeee!

THANK YOU!!!!
Next goal is Top 10! Can we do it? I believe! I just need you keep on voting - every single day - let's keep this momentum up!!

So today is "A Day of Peace" (I saw it on Facebook so it must be true....heh!) .... see below...

PEPSI Refresh: Day 3

It's Day 3 of the Pepsi Refresh Contest. Hurrah!

We're currently sitting in 18th place....right in the middle. It's tough not to obsess and worry about the placement but I must keep reminding myself that a) anything can happen b) it's still early c) things change on an hourly basis. Yesterday we were in 15th place for a couple hours and I was thrilled! It's not over until it's over, and I am not going to give up...

Aloha Amigos!
